Text at base of print reads as follows:

The unearthly siren wail catapults the groundcrew and pilot from their rest, as the telebrief springs to life: “Binbrook, this is Boulmer, alert Lightning, mission 51; vector 040, climb to flight level 250, contact Boulmer fighter frequency as pre-briefed. Scramble, scramble, scramble”. The shriek of avpin starters precedes the roar of Rolls Royce Avons as the massive drab shape surges from the Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) Hangar and powers down the glistening runway, leaving boiling spray in its wake. Lightning reheats spear the gloom and the ground shakes with their thunder.

The ' Cold War' spectacle of two Lightnings on QRA is re–created at Bruntingthorpe Airfield, Leicestershire by the Lightning Preservation Group (LPG). The QRA Hangar will form the basis of a unique museum as a tribute to the men and machines of the Lightning Force which were in the frontline of the UK Air Defence against the Soviet threat during the Cold War period for almost 30 years.
