TWILIGHT EVENT 2023 – SATURDAY 4th NOVEMBER

The Twilight Event 2023 will be held at Bruntingthorpe on Saturday 4th November 2023 with entry at 14:00hrs.

When arriving at the airfield, please see the map above and enter the event at the BLUE CIRCLE from behind the Q-Shed off Bath Lane and you will see the access gate. DO NOT TRY AND USE THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO THE AIRFIELD!   Entry is only via the access gate on Bath Lane. If you look at map above the blue circle is the museum entrance, red circle is the old airfield entrance – head for the blue! Please follow the stewards instructions and park in the area you are directed to.

Many of you will be aware that we no longer have access to the runway at Bruntingthorpe so fast taxy runs are not possible at the moment, but we have been busy working on a new event that will let you get up and close to our Lightnings.

The Twilight Event 2023 will give you the chance to get closer than ever before to the incredible power of an English Electric Lightning in reheat. The Lightning will be positioned on the pan in front of the Q-Shed with our guests at a safe but close enough distance to feel the rumble, smell the avpin and see the mighty Avon’s in full reheat. You will also have the chance to have a cockpit tour in our F3 Lightning XR713 and see the amazing work that has been going on to restore our T5 XV328 back to her stunning natural metal finish. Our two F6 Lightnings, XS904 and XR728 will also be present with the incredible and stunning XS904 back in one piece after a year or maintenance. Due to the very high demand, all 200 tickets sold out very quickly. Gates open at 14:00hrs, please do not arrive early as this will cause traffic problems on the adjacent narrow roads. Please bring a copy of your PayPal receipt – this is your ticket. If you purchased by credit card please bring a copy of your card receipt.

Please stay within the designated area around the Q-Shed at all times, this is for your own safety.

Our shop will be open, please bring cash if possible, and there will be refreshments, photo opportunities and a chance to once again get up and close with our Lightnings. Ear Defenders are highly recommended!!
